I had the pleasure of shooting this awesome event again this year. The Grant Halliburton Foundation puts on this benefit dinner every year on White Rock Lake. Its a blast and a great opportunity to raise a lot of money for the foundation! With great silent auction prizes like Helmets and footballs signed by Dallas Cowboys players like Troy Aikman and Tony Romo, weekend getaways and tickets concerts along with other signed merchandise, its no wonder this event is fun! Top that off with great food, a great band and great company and you have a fantastic evening!!

These lovely ladies were behind all the lovely displays of the awesome auction prizes (Im sure they did a million other things too!!)

If you follow my (sparsely updated.. sorry :/ ) blog, then you will have seen my little nieces newborn pictures one here. I can hardly beleive she is 4 months already. She came over this past weekend and I knew I had to enter this picture of her in this weeks I Heart Faces challenge. I will forever be baffled by the way that children learn to do things. Even something as simple as holding her bottle, I am amazed that with no instruction she can pick up on it. Her mom never put her sweet hands around it to hold, she learned it on her own. Can you even believe it?! Check out his mommy's belly HERE or HERE. Or his newborns. HERE. How about 3 months HERE... and 8 months HERE. lol and I think 10 months HERE. Well nows he's one (plus a month.) PHEW!! And boy is he not walking but RUNNING! yipes! :) And because here in Texas is still about A gazillion degrees we took Mr. Brayden to a splash pad for a little water fun! Glad we had him in some boots to slow him down for a few minutes.. and Im also glad he sprouted a little hair. :) Thought he was gonna be his daddy's clone forever. :) LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

As soon as I saw the prompt for this week, I knew this had to be the photo. This was just seconds after this lil one was born. What softer than a new baby? Meet Karen.. behind the pink.

I met Karen via email less than a week ago and i already feel like i know her well. Karen emailed me by starting how I hope you don't think Im crazy but.... And I didn't think she was crazy when i got done reading her email. She told me that she had breast cancer. She had done the chemo and radiation and other treatments and surgeries and in September had a double mastectomy. For those of you who don't know, this is where the breast is removed. It can have devastating effects on some women. They don't feel whole, they don't feel pretty and Karen told me that many women also have to face relationship problems because of it. Husbands leave, or won't touch their wives anymore. Inspired by a younger woman than herself with a young son who battled breast cancer, Karen felt that it was necessary to photographically document her cancer. She wanted people to see "behind the pink", what people rarely see. The pain and suffering and hurt and ugly behind all the pink ribbons and bows. I am happy to be a part in Karen's journey to complete recovery. In about 8 hours Karen will arrive at the hospital to get her boobies back! She will be having reconstructive surgery. So say a little prayer. I know that you will get to see more of Karen in the future. Are you battling breast cancer? Im sure Karen would love to answer any questions you have. Please email me and I will give her your information. Also if you feel compelled to donate because of Karen's story, contact me and I will point you in the direction of some fantastic organizations. When I saw this weeks challenge I knew just the photo!! This is A at the alter. The preacher says do you have the rings? The groom pulls out her ring and I see her lean in close to look at it. Then a look of disbelief , then softly whispers, thats not my ring, then she looks at me then at at him with a huge smile on her face. So heres what happened, The groom had proposed with a small ring but to surprise her on her wedding day bought her a much larger gorgeous ring! (which I knew before hand of course!) All that led to this picture. I have the whole series but I heart faces is just one so I picked the one where she looked at me! :)

Soooo yes I took a 8 month pregnant woman to a carnival thinking that it would really cute and different for a baby belly shoot. And she has a 1 1/2 year old so I wanted to get some shots on the merry-go-round with them both. Well nope, pregnant women are not allowed on ANY rides, even the very tame merry-go-round. I even tried to ask the man if we could just take pictures on it while it wasn't moving since there was no one in line, he said no but his English was poor so I put my best Spanish on and tried again and still no.. so oh well. We went somewhere pretty anyways and still got some really good ones but I won't hide my disappointment in the lame carnival! lol Well without further whining Miss T , M and 1 1/2 year old cutie patootie, A! ( and don't forget baby R in the belly!!)

This is my second week shooting for the I heart faces site. I love trying to come up with something creative, but I really had a hard time with purple, I literally have NOTHING that is purple! lol. So this weekend I traveled down to Austin to visit my family and go to the lake and low and behold my 13 year old sister had a purple beach towel.. PERFECT and she looked so pretty and many shots I took, then my mom snuck up behind her and tickled her. Thats this shot. I love it, it is the epitome of my family. Happy, silly and just so.. right. :D Enjoy.

My dad and I flew to California to help my grandmother move to Texas. We then drove the 30 hours back to Texas. It was really emotional because my grandma was moving out of my great grandmother's house, who dies in August 2009. I practically grew up in her house and now its sold. But anyways, past all the sadness I took lots of photos! These are just a few of my favorites.

Baby H Hospital Visit

Since littly Baby H had a rough start and had to stay in NICU for a little over a week, I visited him in the hospital and took a few pictures. This is his momma's belly HERE. Oh yeah, did I mention we did her baby belly pics Sunday afternoon and the baby came Monday morning at 6 am, one month early. Talk about cuttin it close!!! Today at one of my very best friends bridal shower I met this little fellow. He was the host's son and as the guests were leaving and I was waiting for my friend (since we rode together) I snuck in a little super mini session of this lil guy. I had fun with these cute kiddos today in the wildflowers.. however it turns out i was highly allergic to something in that field because my legs and arms broke out in hives and one of my eyes got so red and itchy and of course the sneezing!.. lol even mom was feelin the allergies kick in.. so we finished what we were doing and hightailed it out of that itchy field! We then went to their house to do a few more. Despite all the allergy problems and pokey grass some of the pictures turned out great so thanks for hangin in there kiddos and mom!! :) And thanks for the Benedryl!

Urban is one of my favorite little ones because I've gotten to photograph his mommy's pregnant tummy, his one year old Christmas photos and now hes 2!... And actually his mommy is a good friend of mine and I was babysitting and snuck a few pictures in while we were playing.. but shhh don't tell! I love the way these came out.. I can't wait to take more of him and his whole family this spring!

Baby Aaron again getting os big.. 6 months now. Mommy wasn't able to come so he wasn't fond of this shoot. Were planning another day where mommy can come :) But heres a few. We took my three year old niece and 6 month old nephew trick or treating. There are no pictures of my nephew, however because he proceeded to fall asleep less than 5 minutes into it.. lol. But here are a few of my niece.

Oh! I did find one that I took.. can't see his costume but.... lol sleepy baby (p.s. He was a football player.. his hat is a little helmet)

I just loved her big bow in her hair.. me and D just walked around their apartments for a few quick pics and turned out to get some really good ones. :) Maybe its cuz shes so cute!

She didn't think I saw her dancing when we were walking back to their apartment but I did... then she saw I took a picture and cheesed for me... lol she had the "cheese" down. lol

The suprise.. all the kiddos wanted to surprise Mimi.. the garage got opened a bit prematurely however.. she was still in the car! :)

Everyone had everything decorated so beautifully, with the Hawaiian theme, Mimi even got a lei when she got out of her car.

Topped with 60 candles :)

She needed some little one's help for that many candles.

This poor little puppy was pooped after being chased by kiddos all day long. :)

Bois d'arc Bash Baby Pageant

My three year old neice and 5 month old nephew participated in the Commerce Baby Pageant this last weekend. We went to the morning parade then back to the house to do hair and make up and dress up.. the works :) Sarah (my neice) had a blast.. and while she didn't win she still got a trophy and she was more than happy with that. Baby Aaron got second place and just looked the cutest ever. :) More pics of him soon as he is almost a big 6 month old!! I can't believe it. Enjoy :)

And i have to credit my wonderful boyfriend for taking the next two as I had to go to work :(. But he did great (after i set the camera up for him ;] )
